Totoro cover for your tablet

File 344This bag was a Christmas present for my youngest. He desperately wanted a Nexus tablet which the whole family chipped in for Smile It is knit and then felted, with Totoro's face sewn on. In the pattern, I describe how to adapt the pattern to your specific tablet dimensions based on a felted gauge swatch. You can also use the pattern as a base for whichever personalization, you should like - it doesn't have to be Totoro, it could be cars or Star Wars or whatever your little one or yourself would like Smile

This year's Christmas presents

Okay, so I know this is last minute if this is going to help anyone LOL But here goes.

This year's homemade presents:

Pom pom Dust Bunny and some Totoro links :-)

File 276At the moment, My Neighbour Totoro is a big hit in my house Smile And a giant Totoro teddy to snuggle with is no. one on the Birthday wish list. Right now, though, I need to work from my stash for financial reasons Wink So I'll start out with the smallest thing - a dust bunny Smile It takes about 10 minutes to make, and children can do some of the work themselves.

Slouchy Candle flame hat

File 303This is just the loveliest hat I've ever made <3 It's made using the beautiful Candle Flame stitch pattern, from the wonderful shawl by the same name by Dean Crane. My mum asked for a warm and slouchy hat for the cold season, and the Candle Flame came to mind - now I simply have to have one for myself Smile

ZX Spektrum hat

File 289The ZX Spektrum hat - for the geek turning 40 Wink It is made with worsted weight wool yarn on 4 mm needles, and due to the diagonal stripes it's knit flat and seamed at the back.

Purl stitch - the way I was taught :-)

File 236I did this video to show my knitting-wise friend how I learnt to purl Smile For some reason a lot of people viewed this on youtube, so I figured I might as well post it here too if someone would happen to find it useful Smile I don't talk in the video, so no Danish to confuse the English speaking Wink Later we found out that this purl technique is often called Finnish purl.

Zauber shawl

File 229I accidentally bought 2 skeins of Schoppelwolle Zauberball Single Tropical Fish, because it's just the prettiest yarn ever <3 When I tried to find a worthy project for it, this simple shawl (or wrap) popped up in my head Smile

Thora's baby cardigan

File 156My friends breed endlessly Wink Which means there's always a new present to knit. This one is a seamless hooded sweater with raglan sleeves and a beautiful braided cable pattern all down the front, from the top of the hood.

Santa beard

File 221This beard is an essential part of a Santa costume Smile Here you see my own Santa, who needs the beard for dressing up on Christmas and handing out all the presents Wink

An Aran for Aksel

I made this aran for my nephew for Christmas and finally I have the pattern written down. The size is still only for 18 months, but I'm hoping to adjust it for other sizes some day.
